YEAR OF THE HORSE T-SHIRTS
February 17, 2026 is the first day of the Year of the Yang Fire Horse. We leave the introspective snake to be bold and energetic like a spirited horse. Horses embody action and movement. The Year of the Horse can mean shaking up routines. It invites us to follow our instincts and embrace the unexpected. While the element of fire creates an abundance of exuberant and expansive energy, it is also destructive when untamed, demanding vigilance, caution, and grounding. This design was created by our own Penny Martindale, retired faculty of art at Centralia College and studio community member practicing Liangong and Taiji for many years. She outdoes herself each year with these zodiac creations. The bright red shirts will represent the fire element of this year's horse. They will be printed locally by TAGS Awards & Specialties who passed on their savings from lowered production costs. Check out this year's lower prices!

WORLD TAIJI & QIGONG DAY (April 25, 2026)
Every year on the last Saturday of April at 10 am (local time), practitioners of Taiji and Qigong all over the world practice their forms to create a wave of mindful, relaxed energy that circumnavigates the earth promoting personal and global health, peace, and healing. Let's breathe and move together for a positive and peaceful future.
Taiji and Qigong practitioners from around the Olympia area meet at 9:30 am at Marathon Park on the west side of Capitol Lake on Deschutes Parkway. People can practice whatever styles they desire, and folks from schools and classes can practice together as a group if they want. At 10 am, we begin practice and continue for about an hour to soft Chinese music. Supporters are also welcome to come and watch. Afterwards, folks may want to share their practices and join in on the forms of others.
If you teach or are part of a school, feel free to bring a card table and materials to display about your classes. Volunteers to watch the tables and talk to passersby with questions are appreciated. See you by the lake at 9:30 am, and be ready to practice at 10 am!
